Also, try to foreshadow the ancient red dragon Klauth otherwise when the party is gifted the airship by Klauth at the end of chapter 4 it feels like it comes out of nowhere. I would also suggest running the side quest the Kraken's Gamble which takes place in Yartar because it creates foreshadowing for later in the campaign that will give your party that 'aha moment'.

This creates a sense of urgency as well as responsibility for the party. I used chapter 3 as an opportunity to show the wide spread chaos that the Giants have been creating throughout the North. The party has free reign throughout the north and chapter 3 but usually are following quests from either Triboar, Bryn Shander, or Goldenfields. In my opinion the most daunting part of SKT is chapter 3. I started the adventure at level five using the LMoP hook so the party was coming from Phandalin and traveling to Triboar where I ran the fire giant attack. I ran my campaign with five and there were still times where I felt like the encounters were extremely deadly for my party. I would also make sure that your party understands that SKT is meant to be a deadly campaign and that is only amplified by the fact that you have four PCs. I would make sure that any house rules are known at session zero so that there is no confusion moving forward.
